Welcome to this beautiful 4 bedroom property named Kharvilla and set in the area of Djorf, West Bank of Luxor just 10 minutes drive from the great Valley of the Kings and many wonderful Temples & Tombs of the Pharaohs and nobles of ancient Egypt and just a short drive to the local ferry where you can cross to the East Bank of Luxor to explore the Temples of Luxor and Karnak which were originally joined by an avenue of sphinx built by the 30th Dynasty king Nectanebo I (380-362 BC) you are able to see some great examples of the statues already excavated allowing the restoration of the avenue which is continuously being worked on to uncover as many of these majestic figures as possible.

Entrance to the villa and it’s lovely grounds is through double width secure metal gates with mosaic pathway leading you through a fruit and vegetable garden to the entrance door of the stunning pool area and the villa itself.  The cartouche shaped swimming pool has a key of life design set in the ceramic tile base, measures 9 x 4 meters and 137 cm at it’s deepest and has a 6 jet Jacuzzi at the shallow end. There is a shower room with WC  off the pool area and vanity washbasin set in the pool area, sun loungers for relaxation and sunbathing, cane table & chairs to sit and enjoy your drinks by the pool. There is also a washing machine situated in the pool area and a stairway leading to a small roof terrace which is used as a drying area for clothes.

From the pool, you enter the villa via a full-width terrace which is furnished with large marble top table and bench seating for alfresco dining, furnished with seating so you can sit quietly in the shade. The villa doors are natural wood finish double size with an arch feature glazed panel above, inner doors are glazed etched with Lotus flower design. This brings you directly into the very spacious well-equipped kitchen which is fully fitted with base cupboards and uniquely designed wall shelves. Granite worktops, double bowl stainless steel sink, larder fridge, electric kettle, electric oven with 2 solid hotplates. There is a wealth of crockery, cutlery, cooking pans, and many kitchen utensils and a tabletop cooling fan. The dining area is spacious a has unique designed breakfast/dining table with four chairs.

The lounge is accessed via an arched door from the kitchen/dining room. Living space is very light and open with feature columns, ample comfortable suite of sofas and chairs, flat-screen Sat-TV, corner feature brick built fireplace, fitted wall unit and wrap-around shelving full length of one-half of the room housing ornamental pieces, books, and two large table lamps and the room has a floor standing fan. Doors from the lounge lead out to the large furnished terrace with overhead and wall lighting and a very pretty garden, this tranquil haven allows you to relax and take in the stunning views of the magnificent Nile, Luxor Temple and the famous Winter Palace which was the residence of King Farouk and is now a famous Winter Palace Hotel which was used in the filming of the British BBC series Egypt and in the famous movie Agatha Christie’s – Death on the Nile. Also from the terrace, you can watch the many local bird species and see traditional Felucca sailboats, colorful motorboats, and cruise ships on the river. By night Luxor City sparkles before your very eyes with the Hotels and Luxor Temple all beautifully lit up.

Roof Top –

The fourth bedroom is the “The Pyramid room” set on the rooftop and accessed via a staircase off the first-floor landing of the villa. Large bright open plan room with a beautiful natural wood vaulted ceiling which gives the room its name, at night the ceiling is beautifully lit with soft blue lighting. Bedroom area with double bed, 2 bedside tables with lamps, occasional table, 3 door wardrobe with full-length mirrors. The room benefits from windows allowing in natural light and are natural wood double framed, with an inner glazed window is glass etched with lotus flower design. Kitchen area with marble worktops, stainless steel sink, storage, crockery & cutlery, cooking pans, small electric oven with 2 solid hotplates, small fridge, small table and chairs for dining or use on the terrace, a small lightweight sofa that can be moved with ease and also used outside. The en-suite bathroom is fully tiled is a lovely deep blue shade and has a full-size bath with overhead shower, marble vanity basin with mirror above, 2 chrome towel rails, and WC. The room has a small window again allowing in natural light to illuminate the bathroom.

The beautiful large roof terrace with wooden roof gazebo for shade gives you panoramic spectacular views of the Nile, lush green farmlands, Luxor Temple, the famous Winter Palace Hotel, mountains in the distance, and the East bank of Luxor. You can sit out day or night, soaking up the sun in the daytime and spending long leisurely nights gazing at the stars of the clear sky’s blessing Egypt.

From the villa you can take a short scenic walk to the area of Banana island where you will find two local cafes, there you can sit by the beautiful Nile sipping a long cool drink or enjoying the local Egyptian dishes they serve. Relax in the shade in the daytime or enjoy a game of billiards or table tennis. In the evening soak up the Egyptian atmosphere of warm friendly local people.

Kharvilla has its own friendly Manager, Abou who speaks good English and is there to look after you and your needs, he will take the hassle out of your holiday. Pickup and return to Luxor Airport for £20.00 (paid to the driver) You can arrange with Abou to drive you anywhere, to all the archaeological sites of Luxor or further away, for example, Dendera or Abydos.  He will also take you to supermarkets on East bank or bring you whatever groceries you require. For an evening out he’ll take you to ferry or to any of the main Hotels of the East/West banks where you can enjoy the restaurants. You will be provided with an Egyptian phone to contact him at any time.
